    Welcome to The Thread Counter, where you can learn to sew, knit and crochet.

    We have a range of classes to suit different abilities and different crafts. Some are project based and others let you choose.

  • Yarns & Accessories

    We are passionate about recycling and natural fibres - that's why the yarns we sell focus on these features. In addition, we also have a selection of accessories for knitting and crochet.

  • Hand-made & Up-cycled

    Treat yourself or a friend to one of our products in our own collection. We design and make up-cycled accessories using denim and tweed. Each item is unique and made from recycled and scrap frabric.

Welcome to The Thread Counter, where you can learn to sew, knit and crochet.

Have you ever wanted to re-kindle an old passion but don't know where to start?

Are you already making things but need a little help?

Maybe you just want some "me time" put aside to work on your project whilst meeting up with like minded people.

We have classes where you will work on a specific project, for example, making trousers, a blanket or a Christmas decoration.

We recognise that some of our crafters want a little more freedom, particularly those who are more experienced. Our Drop-in classes will suit anyone who is working on their own project.

  • Pop-in Sewing Classes

    Enjoyable sewing classes in a friendly, social environment for beginners through to advanced.

    Wednesdays - Saturdays

    £20 / session, £75 for 4

  • Pop-in Knitting Classes

    Our pop-in knitting classes are aimed for beginners, improvers and advanced learners.

    Wednesdays & Thursdays

    £12 / session, £40 for 4

  • Specific Project

    We run classes where we make a specific item, such as a dress, trousers, waistcoat or pyjamas. Check the schedule. Prices vary and include materials.
