Join us for a fun Sunday afternoon and dive into the creative world of fabric layering and visible mending. Whether you would like to repair a beloved garment or create a new unique piece of clothing.
There are many techniques that embrace upcycling and repurposing in the wonderful creative world of fabric layering and visible mending.
Basic hand and machine sewing skills are required.

Continental Knitting Workshop
Learn how to knit stitches in continental-style knitting with us in this two hour workshop. Unlike standard English-style knitting, the yarn is held in the left hand. There is no wrapping of yarn required. The stitches in both knitting styles do look the same.
The workshop is aimed to the confident knitter. Please bring any yarn and matching size of knitting needles with you.

Introduction to colour work and corrugated rib knitting workshop
The course is aimed to the advanced knitter. In colour work knitting patterns you will use two or more colours in a single row or round. The workshop focus is on the corrugated rib pattern. A corrugated rib is not a stretchy rib and has less elasticity than other ribbing patterns. However it is a decorative technique used in Fair Isle and other colour work knitting projects. You will learn how to carry on the yarn on the back of your work, creating a perfect tension. In the course you will be knitting a sample going forward and backwards. We won’t be knitting in the round.
Please bring knitting needles size 2.75mm or 3mm with you. These could also be purchased at the beginning of the workshop if you don’t already have them.
Yarn will be supplied. We will be working with West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply.

Beginner Sewing Workshop
Get to grips with the basics of sewing and make a unique Soup Bowl Cosy. You will learn how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, sew in straight lines, make darts and sew multiple layers of fabric together.

Harris Tweed Bag Workshop
Join us for a Saturday afternoon to make your very own beautiful Harris Tweed Shopping Bag. The workshop is aimed for the advanced beginner. You should be confident threading a sewing machine and sew in straight and curved lines.
All materials are included.
Harris Tweed fabric, Harris Tweed Label, Cotton lining, PU leather handles and thread.
You will be fuelled with coffee/tea ☕️ and biscuits 🍪 throughout your sewing adventure.

Sock Knitting Class 🧦
Make your own special pair of handmade socks 🧦
This 3week workshop is aimed at people who already know how to cast on, knit and purl. You will be knitting with a set of 5 single pointed needles and we are using 4ply or 8ply sock wool which can be machine washed.
Socks are fun to wear, a fun gift for family or friends and most of all they are fun 🤩 to knit!
😅There will be homework in between the classes😅

Our knitting classes are aimed for beginners, improvers and advanced learners.
From casting on to knitting, purling and binding off. The creation of something you love to wear by knitting it is joyful. Build your knitting skills over time and add new techniques. This knitting journey will encourage and support your learning while you make new friends along the way. Drop the stress not your stitches. Knit in a fun environment and increase your knitting confidence.
